Summer of Color [week one]

An exciting and colourful summer is ahead and I am happy to be among a group of fun-loving and creative friends who are joining in the SUMMER OF COLOR; imagined and dreamed and created by the amazing Kristin!
Our colors this week are orange, pink, yellow and a touch of white. Here's what I made with those colors:
Oh wait! How did that teal and that berry red sneak in?! Oh! I am in India. That's why. In my imagination this summer, I am in India.
If you look closer you can see that I've painted on used tea bag paper. This is a mixed media piece meant to be hung as a sort of mantra meditation mobile. It moves with a drift of air and the light catches the sparkle in the sequin and mirror.
Thanks for dropping by, and I hope to see you soon, *smiles* Norma
To see gorgeous art by others playing along this summer, pop in to Kristin's blog which is linked above. She has a link for all of the participants.

  5. Hi Norma, great to meet up with you over here - we do get about don't we!!! I love what you've done for this challenge - your painting is always so delicate and pretty and I love the embellishments - that pretty little gold threaded ring is lovely. I also like how you've displayed it on the fabric to photograph. A lovely Indian feel to it!

  13. Hey there Norma, nice to see you doing the SOC 2 as well.
Lovely piece. I was wondering if that was a tea bag, very creative I must say. Sometimes other colours sneak in my art as well, I don't think Kristin will mind. I like it.
    Thanks for dropping by, Lesley♥

  15. What a lovely idea for a mobile. I've seen teabags painted on as little pictures but not to be part of a mobile like that. lovely.

  16. the used tea bag is a great idea-- such an interesting texture and airiness to it. maybe it's just the photograph, but it looks so much bigger than tea bag size! you must be drinking big cups of tea! :-)

i like that you incorporated other colors as well. they offset the colors of the challenge beautifully.
